Maundy Thursday, April 2
Our services of Holy Communion on the Thursday of Holy Week have always touched many people with the real heart of the story of Christís passion. This year weíll gather once again at 7:00 PM in the upper room (our chapel) to remember Christís Last Supper with his disciples and to join Christís people from all times and places at the table in the Kingdom of God. Please be with us on April 2 for this wonderful service.
Good Friday, April 3
On the day Christ dies on the cross we are going to do a special service of silence, reflection, and hope. Weíll gather in the chapel at 7:00 PM on April 3 to witness the dying of the light and to ponder the cross in our time, and in our own lives. Various poems, hymns, and scriptures will be shared as we stare up Golgothaís hill. It has been said that we can only begin to understand the blazing glory of Easter if we have once apprehended the naked horror of Calvary. We believe that this service will help you be truly ready for Easter.
The Resurrection of the Lord
Easter Sunday, April 5
Join us as we celebrate the blazing glory of resurrection and the new life Christ offers us all on Easter Sunday.
Sunrise Service 6:45 AM
This year we will again follow our new tradition, beginning Easter Sunday with a sunrise service. The service will be held outside if weather permits and we will welcome Phil Sims and Theresa Quinn who will lead our singing. Sunrise on Easter 2015 is at 6:52 AM so wake up early and join us as we sing of Godís new creation.
Traditional Celebration of Resurrection at 11:15 AM
Weíll sing Godís praises and share the wonderful Good News at 11:15 in our sanctuary. Our tradition of wonderful music and hymns will help us draw closer to our Lord and find the new life, the resurrection life that Easter offers us all.
Share the joy of Easter with your friends at First Presbyterian Church!
