Tutors Needed for Thriving Literacy Program

First Presbyterian Church of Buffalo has had a thriving program for years serving as a drop-in center for Literacy Volunteers of America. A new year for the program will begin on Tuesday, September 25 at 4:30 PM. Tutoring is offered to both youth and adults on Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons from 4:30-6:30 PM, and childcare is provided for the preschool children of the adults. All of students, mostly women, and their children are refugees from various nations in Africa, newly arrived in Buffalo. There are over 40 adults and upwards of 60 children involved in the program.
