First Churchers, this public meeting may be of interest to some of you, and is being held at First Church on Thursday, April 14th at 6:30 PM.
Please attend a meeting for Kleinhans neighborhood homeowners to learn more about the proposed One Allentown Buffalo and National-Register historic district.
The Allentown Association, Inc. is leading an effort to align both the Allentown City of Buffalo and National-Register historic district boundaries. The New York State Historic Preservation Office recommends revising existing Allentown Buffalo and National-Register Historic ...District boundaries to include historic homes in the Kleinhans neighborhood on Plymouth Avenue, Porter Avenue, and Jersey Street.
Benefits of owning a home in a historic district include access to Federal and NYS tax credits; higher property values; preservation of neighborhood assets and integrity of your block. Responsibilities include review and approval by Buffalo Preservation Board for any exterior changes to your home (except painting).
Members of the Buffalo Preservation Board will be present at this meeting to answer any questions you may have about the Preservation Board review process so you can decide whether you would like to have your home included in the Allentown Historic Preservation District.
